There are a couple of local events this coming holiday weekend to reflect upon the consequences of the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton Supreme Court decisions handed down 42 years ago.
The first event is sponsored by us, Pikes Peak Citizens for Life. On Sunday January 18 at 1 pm we will continue the observance of the National Sanctity of Human Life Day that President Ronald Reagan inaugurated back in 1984. You can read more about this history and the event details in our January newsletter.
In summary, on the south sidewalk of the Pioneers Museum, we will be remembering, in prayer and sharing, the millions of babies that have died by abortion due to these Supreme Court decisions. The gathering will last for an hour and light refreshments will be provided.
The second event is sponsored by the St. Mary’s High School Students for Life and will be remembering the Supreme Court decisions and Martin Luther King, Jr., on Monday January 19.
This second event will begin at 9 am on the public sidewalk in front of the local Planned Parenthood facility and will consist of prayer, a balloon release, a march to Corpus Christi Church where a Mass will be held. The event is expected to last until 1 pm. For more details on this event see the flyer.
If we learn of any other events, we will pass the word to you.
