It appears that the Texas Heartbeat Act, barring any last minute legal obstacle, is set to go into effect tomorrow, September 1, as reported by LifeNews.
In an earlier post I had mentioned that a new legal strategy might bring success in Texas where heartbeat bills in other states have always run into insurmountable legal challenges.
It now appears it just might work.
Texas Right to Life is reporting that: “All Planned Parenthoods in Texas have stopped scheduling abortion appointments past six weeks of pregnancy in response to the Texas Heartbeat Act, scheduled to take effect Wednesday.”
So, it looks like Planned Parenthood is taking it seriously!
Texas is leading the way on the heartbeat bills. May many other states follow their lead!
