As I had mentioned earlier, the Supreme Court was to decide whether to restrict the distribution of the abortion pill while a federal lawsuit proceeded through the court process.
The Court has decided not to restrict the distribution of the abortion pill, as detailed by LifeNews. Only two justices, Thomas and Alito, dissented from the decision.
Interestingly, Alito wanted to keep in place the 5th Circuit decision (which partially restricted the distribution of the abortion pill) because, in part, “the Government has not dispelled legitimate doubts that it would even obey an unfavorable order in these cases, much less that it would choose to take enforcement actions to which it has strong objections.” Such is the situation in which we find ourselves at this time in our country. A further description is provided at LifeNews.
So, we will have to wait for the case to make its way through the Supreme Court, which probably won’t occur until the Court’s next term, which doesn’t begin until fall and concludes in June 2024.
