Remember when the Susan G. Komen organization tried to cut its ties with Planned Parenthood back in 2011?
The National Catholic Register notes in a recent story that “[w]ithin four days, Komen caved, and everybody who was on the staff and working toward cutting ties with Planned Parenthood has since left the organization.”
What is Komen doing today? Komen denies research that abortion contributes to breast cancer risk.
Komen also denies studies demonstrating the increased risk of breast cancer due to the use of oral contraceptives.
Since Komen is all about defeating breast cancer, supporting an organization that promotes choices that increase breast cancer does not make any sense at all.
And yet Komen continues to support Planned Parenthood.
It is only proper, then, that we stop supporting Komen!
As the article notes, pro-life donors for breast cancer research have alternatives including the Breast Cancer Prevention Institute, the Polycarp Institute, and the Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer.
Part of battling breast cancer is to reduce support of anything that increases breast cancer risk. Planned Parenthood increases breast cancer risk, and Komen supports them.
Ironically, then, a sure way to fight breast cancer is to stop supporting Komen!
