Pueblo Ordinance Covered by Live Action

There is an ordinance before the Pueblo City Council titled “Ordinance Requiring Abortion Providers In Pueblo, Colorado to Comply with Federal Law.”

The catalyst for this ordinance is the proposed construction of an abortuary in Pueblo by abortionist LeRoy Carhart.

The ordinance has been specifically written to cover the exigencies in Colorado and Pueblo, including the Reproductive Health Equity Act passed by the Colorado legislature earlier this year.

Mark Lee Dickson, who has been intimately involved in the ordinance’s drafting, has written about the situation at Live Action.

The introduction of the ordinance and its six findings are covered in “No state is off limits: Colorado city considers protections for preborn humans” posted November 23rd.

The advancement of the ordinance is covered in “Pueblo advances ‘Sanctuary City for the Unborn’ ordinance in Colorado” posted November 30th.

As noted in the latter article, the former Solicitor General of Texas, Jonathan F. Mitchell, architect of the Texas Heartbeat Act, has “sent the Pueblo City Council a letter agreeing to represent the city of Pueblo at no cost to the city or taxpayers for any litigation which may arise if the city council chooses to pass the ordinance.”

We will be closely following this effort to enact the “Ordinance Requiring Abortion Providers In Pueblo, Colorado to Comply with Federal Law” in Pueblo.
