Leaving 2020 and Starting 2021

Déjà vu, all over again! My first post for 2021 (this one) mirrors my first post for 2019 and for 2020.

Sobering news about 2020 greets us at the beginning of 2021.

Just as was the case for 2018 and 2019: “More human beings died in abortions than any other cause of death in 2020” as noted by LifeNews.

As was the case in 2018 and 2019, approximately 42 million people died by abortion in 2020.

In an attempt to comprehend this number of dead, I compared it in my 2019 post to the population of Colorado Springs. I concluded that it corresponds to more than 86 cities the size of Colorado Springs, and that was just for 2018.

For 2019, then, and again for 2020, we have another 86 cities the size of Colorado Springs being destroyed by abortion each year.

Once again, this is just in a single year! Or 258 cities in three years!

Such is the atrocious magnitude of abortion worldwide.

As I pleaded two years ago, and again last year, I plead once again this year: Somehow we have to turn this situation around, and we can start in our own region.

In a returning initiative that was previously shutdown due to the COVID problem, Pikes Peak Citizens for Life will once again be hosting a monthly pro-life event starting on Sanctity of Life Sunday, January 17, 2021. It is our hope that this monthly event will be transformative for our local culture such that, at least locally, we can diminish the ravages of the culture of death in our community.

Please plan on attending. See my previous post and our January newsletter for more information.

Let us join together in 2021 to build the culture of life in the Pikes Peak region.
