Déjà vu! My first post for 2020 (this one) mirrors my first post for 2019.
Sobering news about 2019 greets us at the beginning of 2020.
Just as was the case in 2018: “More human beings died in abortions than any other cause of death in 2019” as noted by LifeNews.
As was the case in 2018, approximately 42 million people died by abortion in 2019.
In an attempt to comprehend this number of dead, I compared it in last year’s post to the population of Colorado Springs. I concluded that it corresponds to more than 86 cities the size of Colorado Springs, and that was just for 2018.
For 2019, then, we have another 86 cities the size of Colorado Springs being destroyed by abortion.
Once again, this is just in a single year! Or 172 cities in two years!
Such is the atrocious magnitude of abortion worldwide.
As I pleaded last year, I plead once again this year: Somehow we have to turn this situation around, and we can start in our own region.
In a new initiative, Pikes Peak Citizens for Life will be inaugurating a new monthly pro-life event on Sanctity of Life Sunday, January 19, 2020. It is our hope that this monthly event will be transformative for our local culture such that, at least locally, we can diminish the ravages of the culture of death in our community.
Let us join together in 2020 to build the culture of life in the Pikes Peak region.
